Both times, Kevin was our guide through our process. Both times, Kevin went above and beyond to make an extremely emotionally draining and heartbreaking process, as easy as it could be. There were, gratefully, nine years in between our needs and the first time brought us back to him for our needs the second time. He, and the entire staff at Carnes, will keep us coming back, although we hope it is a very long time before that happens. I cannot stress enough the great care they took with everything, and us, for every aspect and detail needed.

This is the fee to purchase printed funeral programs. You may purchase programs through the funeral home or elsewhere, if you wish. This is the fee for additional preparation of the body, such as dressing and casketing.
I made a special request which they were able to make happen and I greatly appreciate all their efforts. They have made my time of sorrow and loss much easier to get through. Kevin Byron made the entire planning process in an extremely caring and knowledgeable manner.

Ernest was a licensed funeral director with 38 years experience.He faithfully attended Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church of Galveston. He was born December 24, 1960 in Galveston, Texas and went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 16, 2015 while at his home in Galveston. He was a devoted and loyal friend and colleague for over 45 years.
Everything was explained and offered in detail. We were never pressured to accept services or products we weren't interested in. Once we made our decision, everything came off without a hitch and no mistakes or surprises. Their manner was very professional but at the same time very warm and comforting.

This is the fee for the services the funeral home will provide during a visitation or viewing. This is generally required if you would like to hold a viewing and visitation at the funeral home or if you will be needing any assistance from the staff. As his last career, John worked as a funeral attendant at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home from it’s beginning in 1990. He would literally give you the shirt off his back, no matter who you were. He was a ‘can do’ man who was ever ready, willing and able to help. Sharon is the daughter of a longtime funeral director H.P.
It meant so much that he worked with us on everything and responded to every email and phone call i made to him. I would highly recommend Carnes services to anyone who is need.. You guys found a way to mAke it all work.

The Carnes Brothers have dedicated their lives to the service of others. They are lifetime Galvestonians by choice; aware of all the history of this grand community and involved in every aspect of it. They are able to connect families with every resource that is available from anywhere in the world. Being completely involved in every aspect of Galveston life has afforded them many opportunities that only come with many years of participation. This is a resource that is shared with the families they serve. This is the fee for the services the funeral home will provide during a funeral or memorial service.
We are so thankful that Katherine was so kind, caring, understanding and patient. She went above and beyond for my family during the sad event of my sisters passing. She answered all of our questions and met all of our wants and needs. I would so incredibly recommend Cairnes and funeral director Katherine. Mary Jo made us feel very comfortable when we met with her.
This is the cost to purchase a burial vault from the funeral home. A burial vault is required for most cemeteries, but you may choose to purchase one online or elsewhere, if you'd wish. They also co-founded a funeral home in Tavares that is now Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations.
I also felt like I made a friend in Mr. Byron. Thaddeus was very nice, and accommodating. The entire staff that we had the pleasure of meeting were all great.
 They were patient, professional, and attentive in our time of loss.  They made a tough situation a bit easier to deal with.  I know they cared because they showed they cared. Mike, co-owner and Secretary/Treasure of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, has a long history in the funeral business. Upon graduating high school, Mike entered Commonwealth College of Sciences where he earned degrees in funeral directing and embalming.
